Kanoo Coffee, Guelph, ON

Drink Selection – 5/5 – They had interesting seasonal drinks!! Finally! There was not a large selection, but they had some interesting choices which is all I want! Their seasonal choices were a Cedar Spiced Latte, Ontario Hazelnut Latte, and a Red Velvet Flat White. I chose the Cedar Spiced Latte because I’m a sucker for coniferous flavour!

Drink Quality – 2/5 – I wanted to like it. I really, really wanted to like it. It must be the espresso that’s making it taste sour and bitter. You can taste the cedar flavour and I think it would be really good as a steamer rather than a latte (which was on the menu, so I may go back for that.).

Snack Selection – 3/5 – The pastry case was pretty empty. It had a couple cookies, a couple muffins and an orange and poppy seed loaf. I chose the loaf. They do offer a couple of sandwiches as well, which actually look pretty good.

Snack Quality – 4/5 – The orange poppy seed loaf was good! It was soft and moist and tasted fresh. The orange flavour was not too strong which was nice.

Overall Vibes – 4/5 – It’s got that modern-nordic-chic look going on. Very bright, clean, and some interesting decor. Was busy enough that it felt alive in there. Would probably be a decent place to meet for coffee or get some work done.
